On 3 June 2026, the CH-53 arrived at the Bückeburg Helicopter Museum and officially became part of our collection. 

The transport operation began as early as 04:30 in the morning. The route led from Achum via Ahnsen through "Lange Straße" in Bückeburg. By approximately 06:00, the crane of Franz Bracht KG was already in position to receive the helicopter for its further relocation.

The cooperation among all participating organizations was exemplary. Participants included the Ausbildungswerkstatt Bückeburg (training workshop), the IHTC Bereich Unterstützung (support section), the IHTC Lehrgruppe B (training group B), Helicopter Wing 64 from Diepholz, the Kommando Feldjäger Hannover (Military Police Command), and the team from Bracht .Thanks to the excellent teamwork of all participants, the project was successfully completed.

After years of planning, both the transport and the spectacular relocation of the helicopter from the ground onto the museum roof proceeded smoothly. The weather also showed its best side and contributed to a thoroughly successful day. For the Helicopter Museum, this was a truly special moment.

This particular CH-53, bearing the serial number 84+11, holds special significance for our museum. Our museum director, Captain (Ret.) Dieter Bals, served for decades as a flight engineer officer aboard this very helicopter. With its inclusion in the Army Aviation training collection, a piece of his personal history has returned to a very special place.
